Withdrawal Policy
Authors occasionally ask to withdraw a manuscript from the publication process, either soon after submission or, in some cases, only a few days before publication. Late withdrawals waste the time and effort of editors, reviewers, and editorial staff. This policy explains when and how a manuscript may be withdrawn from the Journal of Mechanical Engineering, Science, and Innovation.
1. Responsibilities of Authors Before Submission
Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure the following:
- all authors, including the corresponding author and co-authors, have confirmed the number of authors, the authorship, the approval of the final manuscript, and its integrity;
- any difference of opinion among the authors has been resolved before the manuscript is submitted;
- the facts and data presented in the manuscript have been carefully checked and are accurate and free of errors;
- all authors agree to publish the manuscript in this journal;
- the manuscript has been properly withdrawn from any other publisher to which it was previously submitted; and
- the manuscript follows the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
2. Unacceptable Reasons for Withdrawal
It is unacceptable to withdraw a manuscript from the journal because it has been accepted by another journal.
3. Withdrawal Request
A withdrawal request should be sent in writing to the Editorial Office by the corresponding author on behalf of all authors, stating the reason for withdrawal.
4. Withdrawal Charges
- Within 48 hours of submission: the manuscript may be withdrawn without any withdrawal fee.
- After the peer review process has started, or during production (Early Release or Ahead of Publication): a withdrawal fee applies. The amount will be communicated to the corresponding author by the Editorial Office.
- After publication online: a published article cannot be withdrawn. Any later change to it, including a correction or retraction, is handled in accordance with the journal's Plagiarism and Retraction Policy.
The Editorial Office will provide the corresponding author with a formal letter of manuscript withdrawal. A withdrawal is processed only after the withdrawal fee, where applicable, has been paid in full to the Editorial Office.
