Post-Publication Discussion
The Journal of Mechanical Engineering, Science, and Innovation encourages constructive discussion of the articles it publishes. Readers who find errors, have questions, or wish to comment on a published article are welcome to raise them with the journal.
1. How to Raise a Comment or Concern
Comments, questions, and concerns about a published article should be sent in writing to the Editorial Office at [email protected], with the title of the article and, where possible, its DOI. Please state the issue clearly and give supporting evidence, such as data, references, or a description of the specific error. Comments that suggest research misconduct are handled under the journal's Allegation of Research Misconduct policy.
2. Types of Submission
- Letter to the editor or comment: a short, well-argued discussion of the content of a published article.
- Query about data or methods: a request for clarification of data, methods, or results.
- Report of an error: a factual error in the article, such as a wrong value, equation, figure, or reference.
3. How the Journal Responds
- The Editorial Office acknowledges the comment and the Editor-in-Chief decides whether it is relevant, substantiated, and professional in tone.
- The authors of the published article are informed and invited to respond. Where appropriate, the comment and the authors' reply may be published together.
- If the discussion shows a significant error, the journal may publish a correction (erratum) or an addendum, issue an expression of concern, or, in serious cases, retract the article in accordance with the Plagiarism and Retraction Policy.
- Corrections and other notices are published as separate items, linked to the original article, so that the published record remains transparent. The original article is not silently changed.
4. Standards for Discussion
Contributions must be respectful and focused on the scientific content. The journal does not publish personal attacks, defamatory statements, or comments that have no scientific basis. Concerns raised on other platforms may also be considered by the journal when they are specific and supported by evidence.
