Author Guidelines

1. General Requirements

The manuscript must be the author's original work reporting research results. It must not have been published elsewhere or be under consideration by another journal, unless an explanation is given in the Comments to the Editor field at submission.

Manuscripts must fall within INTEGER's Focus and Scope and be prepared according to the Submission Preparation Checklist.

Manuscripts follow the INTEGER template and are written in Indonesian or English. The abstract is provided in two languages (English and Indonesian).

Page and font specifications:

  • A4 paper, single column, margins of 3 cm on the top, bottom, left, and right.
  • Length of 6 to 10 pages.
  • Body text in Times New Roman, 11 pt, single-spaced.
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx). OpenOffice or RTF files are also accepted.
  • Use italics for emphasis, not underlining (except for URL addresses).
  • All figures, tables, and illustrations are placed within the text at the appropriate points, not at the end of the manuscript.

The manuscript must pass the similarity check, with a maximum similarity index of 20% (Turnitin).

The manuscript must be prepared for blind review: author identity must not be revealed in the body text, attachments, or file properties.

2. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript is organized in the following order:

  1. Title
  2. Author names, affiliations (department, faculty, university), and email addresses
  3. Abstract (first-language version, then second-language version) with keywords
  4. Introduction
  5. Literature Review
  6. Research Method
  7. Results and Discussion
  8. Conclusion
  9. Acknowledgments (if any)
  10. References

A date box (Received, Revised, Accepted, Published) appears below the author information. It is completed by the editorial office.

3. Writing Procedure

3.1. Title and Author Information

The title is single-spaced, 14 pt, bold, with a capital letter at the beginning of each word, and a maximum of 15 words.

Author names are written without academic titles, in sequence, with superscript numbers linked to affiliations. Affiliations are written as Department, Faculty, University. Each author's email address is given with the matching superscript number.

3.2. Abstract

The abstract is a single paragraph of 100 to 250 words, in italics, indented 1 cm from both the left and right margins.

For an Indonesian-language article, the English abstract comes first, followed by the Indonesian abstract. For an English-language article, the order is reversed.

Each abstract is accompanied by 3 to 6 keywords.

3.3. Body Text

The body text is typed in Times New Roman 11 pt, single-spaced, in a single column. A new paragraph is marked by a 1.27 cm tab indent. A 6 pt space follows each section or subsection heading.

Section headings are bold with manual numbering (for example, "1. Introduction" and "1.1. Method"). Automatic numbering is not enabled, so only a normal space separates the number from the first letter.

Bullets and automatic numbering are not used within paragraphs. Enumerated points are written as running text, for example: (1) Writing method, (a) first point, (b) second point. (2) Filling method, (a) first point, (b) second point.

Foreign terms are set in italics.

4. Figures, Tables, Code, and Equations

All objects are referred to in the body text by their number, for example, "Figure 1 shows that ...". Do not use positional phrases such as "the figure below" or "the following figure". One blank line separates a paragraph from an object, and one object from another.

Figures. Figures are provided in high resolution (300 dpi). The caption is placed below the figure, centered, 10 pt, bold. Any text inside a figure must be large enough to read clearly.

Tables. The caption is placed above the table, left-aligned, 10 pt, bold. Tables have no vertical borders. Table contents are 9 pt.

Program code, queries, or algorithms. These are placed in a box using Courier New 9 pt, left-aligned. Captions use the format "Code 1" and so on, 10 pt, bold.

Equations. Equations are left-aligned, with the sequence number in parentheses on the right, for example (1). They are created with the Equation tool in Microsoft Word (Insert, Equation) so that they appear sharp and clear, at 10 pt.

5. Citations and References

In-text citations use parenthetical references in the form (name, year), for example (Briant, 2010). For two authors, both surnames are given. For more than two authors, the first author's surname is followed by et al. Direct quotations include the page number of the source, for example (Ant, 2014: 17).

The reference list is titled "References" and arranged alphabetically by the surname of the first author. It contains a minimum of 15 references. Every reference listed must be cited in the body text, and every citation in the body text must appear in the reference list.

All authors' names are listed; the abbreviation "et al." is not used in the reference list. The format differs by source type. For journal articles, the order is: author names, year, article title, journal name, volume, issue, pages, and the DOI link if available. Example:

Liantoni, F., Kirana, K.C., Muliawati, T.H., 2014, Adaptive Ant Colony Optimization Based Gradient For Edge Detection, Journal of Computer Science and Information, Vol 7, No. 2, pp. 76-82. http://dx.doi.org/10.21609/jiki.v7i2.260

For books, the order is: author names, year, book title (italicized), city of publication, and publisher. URLs are provided where available.

6. Authorship Criteria

INTEGER enforces strict authorship criteria to ensure accountability, transparency, and research integrity. Authorship is granted only to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, data collection, analysis or interpretation, or the development of the manuscript.

All authors must:

  1. Make a substantial intellectual contribution to the research or manuscript.
  2. Participate in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  3. Approve the final version submitted for publication.
  4. Accept accountability for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical conduct of the work, including addressing questions concerning any part of the research.

Individuals who do not meet these requirements must not be listed as authors and may instead be acknowledged where appropriate. Gift, guest, honorary, and ghost authorship are strictly prohibited.

The corresponding author must ensure that all listed authors meet these criteria, have agreed to the author order, and have approved the submitted manuscript. All contributors who qualify for authorship must be included, and no eligible author may be omitted without their consent.

Any change to the author list or author order after submission requires a written justification and written approval from all authors, including any author being added or removed. Such changes are subject to the Editor-in-Chief's approval. Disputes concerning authorship may result in suspension of the editorial process until the matter is resolved.

Violations of this policy may lead to manuscript rejection, suspension of the review process, or post-publication correction or retraction, as appropriate.

7. Submission and Fees

Manuscripts are submitted to the Editorial Team as a soft copy (.docx) through the INTEGER OJS portal: https://ejurnal.itats.ac.id/integer/about/submissions. Authors must register first, or log in if already registered, and then complete the five-step submission process.

Before submitting, authors must confirm compliance with the Submission Preparation Checklist. Submissions that do not comply may be returned to the authors.

The article processing and publication fee is IDR 500,000. It is paid after the manuscript is accepted, following the acceptance email, and covers the editorial, peer-review, and publication processes (including DOI registration). Payment instructions are on the Author Fees page.

The editorial office may change the manuscript format as long as the content is not altered.

Notes for Authors

  1. Check carefully for completeness of words and sentences, punctuation, and so on.
  2. Make sure foreign terms are in italics.
  3. Make sure any text inside figures is clearly legible.
  4. Condense the article to as few pages as possible while still following the house style.

Make sure every reference in the References section is cited in the body text, and every citation in the body text is listed in the References section.
