Studi Kasus Pengelolaan Limbah B3 (Slag Nikel) Pada Industri Pertambangan Nikel di Indonesia

Abstract

The mining industry is one of the economic sectors that plays a crucial role in providing raw materials for various human needs. However, mining is often associated with environmental issues, especially concerning the management of hazardous and toxic waste (B3). One of the B3 wastes produced by the mining industry, particularly nickel mining, is nickel slag. The method used in this research is a literature review. A literature review is a research method conducted by reviewing or examining various scientific works that have the same topic. The waste from the processing of nickel ore owned by PT. X in Pomalaa, in the form of slag, is apparently used by the community as material for coastal embankments. However, slag residues are considered hazardous waste containing Hazardous and Toxic Substances. Slag residues cannot be used as coastal embankment material due to their hazardous and toxic content, but slag waste can be utilized as concrete aggregates, road hardening, or aggregates for road construction.
