Feasibility test of Phosphogypsum on the Portland Cement Properties

Abstract

Phosphogypsum Merupakan Produk samping proses pembuatan asam fosfat, biasanya digunakan sebagai pupuk tambahan pengolahan tanah. Alternatifnya, pembuangan bahan ini dalam bentuk TPA membutuhkan lahan yang luas dengan resiko bahaya terhadap lingkungan. Karena itu, bahan tersebut telah mencoba untuk digabungkan dalam pembuatan semen mengingat penggunaannya yang berkelanjutan. Phosphogypsum  dapat digunakan sebagai pengganti gipsum alami dalam produksi semen Portland untuk mengontrol laju reaksi hidrasi semen.  Phosphogypsum mentah dikumpulkan dari industri pupuk lokal. Sifat phosphogypsum dievaluasi dan kemudian efek penambahan berbagai tingkat Phosphogypsum (2, 5, 10 dan 15 persen berat semen) dengan klinker semen Portland diselidiki. Bahan mentah diperlakukan untuk menghilangkan air tambahan dan kotoran dengan mencuci, mengeringkan udara dan mengeringkan oven. Baik bahan yang diolah maupun yang tidak diolah digunakan dalam pekerjaan eksperimental. Pengaturan waktu, aliran, dan perilaku kekuatan tekan dari sampel pasta, mortar, dan beton yang disiapkan dievaluasi untuk menemukan persentase Phosphogypsum yang efektif untuk digunakan dalam pembuatan semen Portland. Dengan mengevaluasi sifat pasta semen, mortar dan beton disimpulkan bahwa penambahan Phosphogypsum 5-10% dalam klinker semen memberikan hasil baik. Disamping Itu penggunaan phospo gypsum sebagai bahan pengganti gypsum alami juga dapat memberikan keuntungan bagi industri. Dikarenakan dengan Persen Penggunaan yang sama namun harga yang jauh lebih murah dapat menghemat biaya produksi.
