Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to design a web-based application to be used in ship repair activities. First, field studies and literature studies related to ship repair activities were carried out, the main problem observed was the flow and system of ship repair activities at shipyards. Ship repair begins with an application (order) for ship repair from the ship owner, then it will be followed by four stages of the business process that will be passed by the ship owner and shipyard, these stages include; negotiation stage, contract stage, implementation stage, and completion stage. The application framework will be used to facilitate understanding of the application to users and designers, the application framework will also be the basis for creating a user database, the user database of this application consists of two users, namely the ship owner and the shipyard. Finally, the application testing has been completed, the application will be tested by several expert respondents in the shipping field. This application will use the concept that there will be two users, namely the ship owner and the shipyard, where the ship owner can find the nearest shipyard for ship repair, and the shipyard can provide services, add dockspace to manage ship repair projects. Overall, the process from submitting ship repairs to ship repair project management is currently classified as manual in terms of exchanging information so it takes longer. With this web application, it is hoped that it can become a forum for the entire ship repair process from submission to completion.
