Abstract

In the era of globalization, there is increasing competition for companies in the service and manufacturing industries. This condition requires service and manufacturing companies to strive to improve their production in a sustainable manner and to improve the quality they produce, thus companies in Indonesia directly compete with foreign companies [1]. To face competition, companies are required to survive in the industrialized world by looking for more value from the services and products produced [2]. Waste can be defined as activities that have no added value along the process flow in the process of changing input to output, which can be interpreted as loss or loss of various resources in the form of material, time (related to labor and equipment) and capital [3][4]. Waste itself is divided into two types, the first type is waste that does not provide added value along the production flow but this activity cannot be avoided for various reasons, while the second type is waste that does not add value at all and must be eliminated [5].
