TANTANGAN LINGKUNGAN DI ERA "NEW NORMAL" INDONESIA

Abstract


Pandemi novel coronavirus, severe acute respiratory coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) telah memberikan dampak mendalam dan negatif terhadap Indonesia. Pandemi ini telah mengubah gaya hidup masyarakat, menyebabkan kehilangan pekerjaan yang luas dan mengancam keberlangsungan hidup jutaan orang. SARS-CoV-2 dapat menyerang siapapun dan memiliki gejala seperti demam, batuk kering, bersin, kelelahan, sakit tenggorokan dan sesak nafas. Jalur penuluaran COVID-19 perlu diketahui dalam rangka menekan angka penyebaran virus. Selain melalui droplet, sampah dan air limbah yang terkontaminasi merupakan sumber potensial dalam penyebaran penyakit ini. Pengembangan penelitian dan langkah-langkah pecegahan senantiasa terus dilakukan sebagai langkah mitigasi. Saat ini, peluang dan tantangan bagi scientist dan engineer adalah menggunakan Wastewater- Based Epidemiology - WBE) sebagai salah satu langkah mitigasi dalam menekan angka penularan penyakit berbahaya ini.
